Governor Alexey Ostrovsky and General Director of IDGC of Centre Igor Makovskiy discussed topical issues of the functioning and development of the regional power grid complex

6 November 2018

Currently, there is close cooperation between the Administration of the Smolensk region and IDGC of Centre. In the Smolensk region, projects are being successfully implemented on electricity supply and provision of additional capacities of enterprises, including the agro-industrial complex, as part of the agreement signed in 2014. A special role of the energy company is assigned in terms of ensuring the availability of grid connection, which has a positive effect on increasing the investment attractiveness of the region.

“I am satisfied with the interaction with the current management of the regional branch of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo. This allows us to successfully implement projects of various levels and constructively solve emerging issues related, including, to improving the reliability of electricity supply to consumers and creating favourable conditions for further socio-economic development of the region,” said Alexey Ostrovsky, ahead of the discussion.

In turn, Igor Makovskiy told Governor about the company’s plans regarding the development of the regional electric grid complex on a digital basis. In particular, the meeting’s participants considered the possibility of improving the operational and technological management of distribution grids of 35 kW and above. This will significantly increase the observability and controllability of power grid facilities.

After listening to the information provided, Alexey Ostrovsky instructed his deputy Andrey Borisov to work out the issue in detail with the representatives of the energy company and, if necessary, to provide the necessary assistance.
