Power engineers of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region are ready to provide reliable power supply to more than 12.5 thousand polling stations in 19 regions of the country on the Single Voting Day

Specialists of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region have completed a set of technical and organizational measures to ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply to polling stations on the Single Voting Day.

On 9 September, elections of different levels will be held in 19 out of 20 regions of the Russian Federation where the companies operate. Seven regions will be covered by them entirely. In the Voronezh and Orel regions, where IDGC of Centre operates, as well as in the Nizhny Novgorod, Ivanovo and Vladimir regions (service areas of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region), governors will be elected. In addition, in the Vladimir and Ivanovo regions and in the Yaroslavl and Smolensk regions (both IDGC of Centre), the councils of the regions will be elected. In the Tver region (IDGC of Centre) and the Nizhny Novgorod region, there will also be additional elections to the State Duma deputies, in addition, representative authorities will be elected in two regional capitals, Belgorod (IDGC of Centre) and Ryazan.

The power engineers formed a list of polling stations connected to grids of the branches, and the scheme of their power supply was checked. In total, on the Single Voting Day, specialists of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region will provide electricity to 12,558 polling stations, of which 8,554 are directly connected to the grids of the companies, and 4,004 - through grids of territorial grid companies.

Currently, the specialists of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region have already completed extraordinary inspections of electrical installations, from which points of voting will be fed. In addition, the schemes of power supply for socially significant facilities have been checked. The technical condition and readiness for the use of reserve power supplies was checked.

Security measures have been strengthened. The communication schemes and the order of interaction with the regional departments of the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry for Emergencies of Russia, as well as schemes for alerting and calling personnel in the event of emergency situations have been clarified. The schedule of round-the-clock watch of operating and repair personnel has been made. In total, reliable power supply of the polling stations will be provided by more than 1,200 crews of power engineers consisting of 4,056 people and 1,425 vehicles.

From 12:00 pm on 7 September until 06:00 am on 10 September, a special operating mode will be introduced in 19 branches of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region. To ensure the reliable functioning of the power system in all territories where the elections are held, all scheduled repairs and associated switching in existing electrical installations have been cancelled. The power engineers will be in high alert until voting results reports are signed at the polling stations.
