In 2017 IDGC of Centre spent more than 500 million rubles on safety measures

14 February 2018

IDGC of Centre summed up the work on safety in 2017. To implement measures to reduce risks of injury to personnel, the company spent 549 million rubles in this period.

The main part of these funds is aimed at providing personnel with overalls, personal protective equipment and devices that reduce risks of injury during work, as well as financing of sanitary-hygienic measures for the prevention of diseases in the workplace.

As part of monitoring compliance with safety requirements, during the year in all branches of the company sudden inspections of working crews were conducted. Based on their results, the improved quality of the organization and the safe conduct of work was noted, as well as a reduction in the number of gross violations in the course of work. In addition, within the framework of the monthly Safety Days, the sanitary and hygienic conditions of the premises, the fire condition of buildings and structures, the provision of the staff with overalls, special footwear and personal protective equipment were checked.

Other special measures were also carried out, in particular, the month of preparation for the safe conduct of mass repairs, the week of electrical safety before World Children’s Day and Knowledge Day, the month for training personnel for safe work in the autumn-winter period of 2017-2018, and also ten-day campaigns on road safety.

Much attention was paid to improving the effectiveness of the system for monitoring the implementation of the necessary norms and regulations, as well as the development and application of new, even more effective ways of creating the necessary skills for safe work. In order to disseminate the best practices of individual departments in the field of industrial safety to all branches, IDGC of Centre last year started implementing the target program for the implementation of the Integrated Automated Safety Management System at power grid facilities. In particular, it includes a subsystem for video monitoring of technological equipment and actions of operating personnel, which makes it possible to create an accessible information base of video materials for use by relevant services. The main goal of the program is to increase the level of the production discipline of workers and the culture of production in general.

For the same purpose, a new "ticket" system for responding to violations of safety requirements was implemented in IDGC of Centre. According to it, each worker from the category of electrical and auxiliary personnel is issued a certificate of knowledge verification consisting of three coupons, the withdrawal of which threatens with punishments and sanctions from the deprivation of the award to the termination of the employment contract. You can lose your ticket for violation of safety requirements. Accounting for all seizure cases with the analysis of the reasons, their consideration at the safety committee and the development of corrective measures is assigned to the office of industrial safety and production control of the branches.

Another innovation was the training of IDGC of Centre’s specialists on the "Program of Defensive Driving" with the aim of developing their skills in situational thinking, defensive behaviour on the road, improving concentration, recognizing dangers and predicting actions of other participants in the movement. Last year, 1,513 employees of the company received safe driving skills. Completion of the training is planned for 2018.
