Tverenergo’s specialists continue to eliminate the consequences of the second wave of bad weather that came to the Tver region

24 December 2017

IDGC of Centre’s management decided to increase the number of personnel and specialized vehicles for emergency repairs in the Tver region. By tomorrow morning crews of the Kursk, Voronezh and Belgorod branches of the company will arrive in the region. Currently, 78 operating and repair crews of the Tver, Yaroslavl and Smolensk branches of IDGC of Centre are working on the restoration of power supply for consumers of Toropetsky, Zapadnodvinsky, Andreapolsky, Ostashkovsky districts of the Upper Volga Region, which were redeployed to the affected municipalities in the morning. In total, 234 specialists are involved in the work.

In parallel with the emergency recovery work on the 6-10 kV network, Tverenergo’s energy specialists are eliminating technological failures in 0.4 kV networks. This work is being carried out at the request of consumers.

Now in the Tver region a strong snowstorm continues. Tverenergo’s Grid Control Centre, which continuously monitors the operational situation, records repeated technological failures on power transmission lines, whose operation was restored in the daytime. The Tver branch is transferring its own resources - additional forces have been mobilized by forestry enterprises to clean up approaches to damaged power facilities, power transmission lines, additional off-road specialized vehicles are being sent to hard-to-reach areas (tracked carriers, snow and swamp-going vehicles).

Tverenergo continues to operate in a special operating mode. All socially important facilities located in the areas affected by bad weather are connected to power supply sources. 68 diesel electric generators were used for this purpose, in addition, the connection was made using a reserve power supply circuit.

The Tver power engineers are constantly interacting with the Government of the Tver region, the General Directorate of the regional EMERCOM of Russia.

Please, be reminded that on the morning of 24 December in the north-western districs the Tver region experienced a heavy snowstorm, accompanied by a gusty wind, which caused the second wave of technological violations in the electricity supply of consumers. The power grid complex, promptly restored by the power engineers of IDGC of Centre, after the ice storm last week, was again damaged by falling trees from the boundaries of ROWs, as well as sticking wet snow to wires and their icing and breaks due to temperature fluctuations from positive to negative.

Tverenergo asks residents of the region to be cautious and observe safety rules: if a broken wire is found, do not approach it closer than 8-10 metres, and as soon as possible report the danger to your Distribution Zone or to the 24-hour Direct Line of Power Engineers at 8- 800-50-50-115 (free of charge) or short number 13-50 (for fixed telephones), and also by phone +7 915-38-000-38 in Telegram and Viber.

These phone numbers also provide information on the course of emergency repairs and the expected timing of restoration of power supply in your settlement.
