A workshop for repair of power transformers went into operation in the Belgorod branch of IDGC of Centre

Since last year IDGC of Centre – Belgorodenergo division has been fully operating a workshop for repair of power transformers of 6-10 kV. The new unit is organized on the repair and production site of Belgorodsky Distribution Zone and serves the entire electric grid complex of the branch.

The bulk of the work on identification of defects and subsequent overhaul is performed by Belgorod power engineers now on their own. According to the chief of analysis and production management Yana Goryunova, it allows to significantly speed up the production process and reduce costs. Last year 251 transformers were repaired this way. Plans for this year have been increased to 300 power transformers of 6-10 kV.

The workshop is equipped with the necessary technological equipment. The repairs involve prepared, specially trained staff who performs loading-unloading, disassembly, defect identification, fitting and mechanical work, conducts pre-repair and acceptance tests, makes windings, assembles and re-trims transformers. There is also a warehouse for temporary storage.

Power transformers are the main link in the system of power supply to consumers. IDGC of Centre – Belgorodenergo division operates more than 16 thousand pieces of 6-10 kV power equipment, reliable operation of the entire electric grid complex of the region depends on its high-quality maintenance and repair.
