26 and 27 November 2016 in the sports hall "Ball Territory" the Silver playoff of the V "Volleyball Energy Cup" was held. IDGC of Centre’s team won.
For the fifth year in a row volleyball teams of companies in the fuel and energy industry compete. In 2016 eight corporate teams took part in the trophy championship. The participants were divided into two groups. After the group stage the first and second place winners went to the Golden playoff, the third and fourth ones - to the Silver playoff.
The teams of "Gazprom mining Yamburg", "Transneft", "IDGC of Centre" (representatives of "Bryanskenergo", "Belgorodenergo" and the executive office of IDGC of Centre) and "Rosenergoatom" competed in Group "A". Such teams as "MOESK", "Gazprom energoholding", "IDGC of Siberia" and "RN-Aero" competed in Group "B".
In the first semi-final of the "Silver playoff" "IDGC of Centre" beat "RN-Aero" quite confidently. The first set was won with a record score - 15:2, and in the second set "RN-Aero" could do comeback and played equal for a long time. However, basically, "RN-Aero" scored with the opponent’s errors. But in the end the team of IDGC of Centre won the game, 15:11. "IDGC of Centre" had flawless victory.
The match for the "gold" began favourably for "IDGC of Centre", the team scored four points in a row, the opponent had to recoup, but it was extremely hard to do so. Closer to the second half of the set "Rosenergoatom" got involved in the struggle, warmed up and was able to seize the initiative, took the lead. But the players of "IDGC of Centre" on time took action and prevailed in a dramatic ending.
The second set was going equal, in the course of competing the white-blue shirts managed to get a minimum lead with one or two points. And in the end with the rapid march the team went to victory, some successful services, and it was already 14:11. "IDGC of Centre" had a timeout, and the team plays back three set points, levelled the score, took a lead and in a tense struggle won 18:16! There was no third set. "IDGC of Centre" is the champion of the Silver playoffs!
As Pavel Zyatikov, a counsel of IDGC of Centre – Bryanskenergo division, noted after the match: "Of course, we are very pleased that we won first place in the Silver final. The decisive match was very hard, the opponent was very strong. But victory was on us."
IDGC of Centre has been active in the area of development and promotion of sports among its employees. The number of participants of corporate championships, sports games and athletics grows every year, and athletes of the electric power company show increasingly good results.
