On 15 November at the site of "Kalugaenergo" General Director of IDGC of Centre, Acting General Director of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Oleg Isaev held a meeting on the results of the first responding and restoration operations in the regions of the company’s service area affected by bad weather.
The event was a thorough analysis of the situation in the electric grid of the Kaluga region, outlined measures to improve the reliability of electricity supply to consumers in the region.
As Oleg Isaev noted, the situation of the last days was a real challenge for the power industry of the Kaluga region and Central Russia. The bad weather that hit the region demanded the utmost mobilization, skills clearly and consistently to act in the most difficult situation.
Work in the conditions of autumn-winter peak loads, especially when the weather, as the recent events have shown, may present any surprises, requires an additional reliability margin, Oleg Isaev stressed. The issues related to strengthening the material and technical base, increasing the monitoring of the functioning of the power grid infrastructure become especially relevant. In particular, experience of IDGC of Centre in improving the reliability and observability, involving the provision of new remote control systems and communication of electrical networks could be useful for IDGC of Centre and Volga Region. As part of the activities implementation in this area IDGC of Centre has succeeded in handling modes of power supply to consumers, optimization of equipment performance and technological losses. And it is also useful to consider the experience of IDGC of Centre in the creating the management structure, eliminating intermediate links, enabling in extreme situations to bring an instruction of leaders to performers as quickly as possible. Particular attention should be paid to improving the level of availability of redundant power supply sources, allowing immediate power supply to consumers in case of technological failures, the quality of the organization of first responding and restoration operations, interaction with adjacent structures.
"Our main task is to ensure the proper functioning of electric grid facilities of the regions of the company’s service area. Therefore, we will continue directing all our efforts to improve the quality and reliability of power supply to consumers," said Oleg Isaev.
