Yaroslavl power engineers of IDGC of Centre eliminate the effects of bad weather

On Thursday, 10 November freezing rain started in the Yaroslavl region, which lasted all night long. Because of the bad weather a power failure occurred in several districts. The energy company promptly eliminated the effects of bad weather and during the day restored the power supply to consumers.

On the night of 11 to 12 November deterioration of weather conditions continued: freezing rain, sleet, multiple temperature transitions "through zero", build-up of ice on power line wires, as well as on branches of trees. Under the influence of ice there were cases recorded of falling trees located outside protected zones of power lines, which caused damage to power line wires and interruption of power supply. The most affected by the disaster were Uglichsky, Pereslavlsky, Nekouzsky, Rybinsky districts of the Yaroslavl region.

The power engineers of IDGC of Centre - Yarenergo division immediately began restoring the interrupted power supply. Currently it has involved 52 first responding and operating crews with a total number of 214 people. The crews have 69 units of necessary equipment. Additional forces and resources were sent to Uglichsky district from other Distribution Zones.

To minimize the power supply interruption duration back-up electric power supply circuits are used. Power supply of socially important facilities has not been interrupted. Full restoration of the power supply to consumers is planned for today.
