IDGC of Centre contributes to the development of the Voronezh region sports infrastructure

3 November 2016

Specialists of IDGC of Centre – Voronezhenergo division completed work on connection to electric grids of a new sports facility with an ice arena, which is being built in the village of Yamnoe in Ramonsky district. To ensure the power supply of the new energy facility the power company constructed a modern XLPE 10 kV cable line. During laying a trenchless technology of horizontal directional drilling was used, which greatly accelerated the work execution. The design power consumption of the facility is 495 kW.

Construction of the facility began in May 2015, it was initiated by the administration of the Voronezh school of figure skating "Crystal skate". In the million city of Voronezh there is currently only one ice arena, which has appropriate standards for full training and competition of skaters and hockey players - in the sports complex "Jubilee", which is obviously not enough. The new facility in Ramonsky district will help solve the problem. According to the project, it will be equipped with an ice rink area of 1,800 square metres, in addition, there will be facilities for practicing choreography and other sports, as well as a physiotherapy facility. It is assumed that the sports complex will be a base school of figure skating and hockey, and the ice arena will be used for sports competitions of skaters and hockey players of the regional and inter-regional level, and possibly for qualifying stages of the All-Russian competitions.

The ice palace in Ramonsky district will open its doors to visitors in May 2017. According to Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre – Voronezhenergo division director Ivan Kleymenov, thus jointly the regional authorities, builders and power engineers will create a major base for education of a healthy and physically developed generation of young people in the district.
