Today the VII Summer Games of IDGC of Centre ended in Belgorod. About 400 power engineers of 11 regions and the executive office of the company competed in eight sports. In the team event the best was the Belgorodenergo branch, which was ahead of Smolenskenergo for the largest number of first places. Third place was taken by sportsmen from the Kostroma region. Winners were awarded by Champion of the Summer Olympic Games in 2012, the captain of the volleyball club "Belogorye" Taras Khtey.
In track and field events leaders were determined among men and women of 35 and over 35 years old. The best personal results in the 100 m race was showed by Belgorod residents Natalia Nikonova, Andrey Belik, Valentina Chusova from Orelenergo and Roman Smirnov (the executive office of IDGC of Centre). The 1,000 m race was won by Yulia Meshalnikova from Kostromaenergo and Anastasia Sasina (Bryanskenergo), in the 3,000 m race - Tver resident Alexander Khodosenko and Kursk resident Vladimir Bocharov. In the 4x200 m relay race and in the overall standings winners were Bryanskenergo’s athletes.
Swimming competitions were also held in two age groups. Power engineers competed in all distances freestyle. In the 50 m swim the first were Belgorod residents Nadezhda Chernysheva and Evgenia Karlova from Voronezh. The 100 m swim was won by Belgorod residents Andrey Lyakhov and Stanislav Gubar. In the 4x50 m relay swim and in the overall standings winners were Belgorod residents.
Competitions in table tennis were also won by Belgorodenergo’s team. In the individual singles the gold of the Games was taken by Belgorod residents Alina Alikhanian and Maxim Plyasov. They also won in doubles.
High results in weightlifting were showed by Voronezh resident Ivan Brovdiy. In the double-event (in the snatch and clean and jerk) he scored 170 points, ahead of the nearest rival Gennady Antokhin from Kurskenergo with 30.5 points.
In one of the most popular sports - mini football - the first place went to the host team. In the finals they confidently beat Yarenergo 3: 0. Tambovenergo took the third place, beating the Smolensk power engineers with a minimum score.
Native walls helped Belgorodenergo win in volleyball competitions. In the final tight match Belgorodians defeated Bryansk colleagues (3: 1). Bronze winner was the team of Kostromaenergo.
Belgorodenergo’s team had no rivals in rifle and pistol shooting either. Participants shot from a prone position at 50 m. Personal victories were won by Belgorod resident Anna Shestakova and Kostroma resident Alexander Dyukov.
The team of Kurskenergo won chess tournament. In the individual competition the best was Igor Pochikeev from Smolenskenergo and Olga Protasova from Bryansk.
Congratulating the winners and participants of the competition, Deputy General Director for Human Resources Management and Organizational Design of IDGC of Centre Inna Gromova noted high team spirit and strong unifying effect of such sporting events: "Our company employs motivated and dedicated people who are ready to the last fight for a top result both in sports and at work. The overall level of skills of athletes every year becomes higher, and the Sports Games themselves on the rules, regulations and inflame of the fight gets closer to professional competitions. It rallies the team, contributes to healthy lifestyle development in the company and improvement of overall performance indicators."
This year’s Sports Games are held under the motto "Sport - the energy of the good". Funds, planned by the primary trade union organization of the Company for the purchase of prizes for the winners, will be allocated for the state budgetary institution for orphans and children left without parental care "Stary Oskol development and socialization centre for sporty children "Start". Chairman of the trade union organization of IDGC of Centre Victor Ablezgov handed the certificate for the construction of summer sports grounds with a canopy to Director of "Start".
Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division director Sergey Demidov stressed that he was pleased with the performance of the team: "Every year the Belgorod power engineers-athletes show better and better results. Experience shows that those, who reach high results in sports, become the best at work."
