Power engineers of IDGC of Centre congratulated an industry veteran Alexandra Khmelevskaya on the 95th anniversary, the same age as the Electrification Plan, who worked in the Kursk power system for more than 30 years. The woman celebrating her name day was handed a gift and a letter of thanks from IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division director Alexander Rudnevsky for long-term work for the benefit of the Kursk power system.

On her anniversary Alexandra Khmelevskaya received a congratulatory telegram with wishes of good health and all the best from Russian President Vladimir Putin. "... You were never afraid of difficulties, believed in the best. With your selfless labour you created the wealth and power of the country," the document says.

Alexandra Khmelevskaya was born in a large family in the village of Partino in Fatezhsky district of the Kursk region in 1920. She began her career early: after finishing the eighth grade, she got a job as an accountant in Oblpotrebsoyuz. She came to the power industry in the late '50s. She started as an accountant in the energy retail company of the recently established regional energy office "Kurskenergo". And then she moved to the post of senior controller to Fatezhsky Distribution Zone.

Her responsibilities included still relevant for today ensuring full payment of accrued payments by consumers for energy consumed. Alexandra Khmelevskaya did meter readings, invoicing. She participated in rounds, inspections and raids. She talked on the radio sometimes, explaining how important it was to pay for electricity on time. As a result, performance of the Distribution Zone in respect of payments improved, but her workbook had the first entries of gratitude.

Alexandra Khmelevskaya retired in 1985. Among her awards there is a medal "33 years of Stakhanovism" and a badge "Shock Worker of Communist Labour".
