May 12, in Orel the second "Motor rally of energy efficiency" was launched, organized by IDGC of Centre. Its main purpose is to popularize among the younger generation energy saving principles. Within the project power engineers will hold a series of thematic lessons in schools of 11 regions of the Central Federal District, during which they will tell children about advanced energy-saving technologies. As a transportation vehicle, as well as an energy-efficient visual aid specialists of the company will use an electric car. They demonstrate its design and functionality to schoolchildren, and provide an opportunity to ride on it.
The "Motor rally of energy efficiency" took the start at the building of IDGC of Centre - Orelenergo division at Mir Square in Orel. Its first stop was at gymnasium # 19. 150 students of graded 1 - 4 with interest listened to a lecture and took an active part in a quiz on energy saving. The power engineers presented the book "Energolandiya" to the most active participants of the quiz. After the electric vehicle went to school # 21, where fifth graders were waiting for employees of the Orel branch of IDGC of Centre. In total, during the first day of the motor rally listeners of "energy-saving lessons" were 300 schoolchildren. And all in all over a thousand schoolchildren of the regional centre will take part in them.
Following the Orel region, the Bryansk and Kursk regions will take the rally baton. The power engineers will tour several dozen districts, about ten thousand schoolchildren will take part in their lessons.
IDGC of Centre organized the first "Motor rally of energy efficiency" in October 2014 in the Orel region. The power engineers toured all of its districts, the participants of the project were more than 2,500 schoolchildren from 26 schools. The motor rally aroused great interest not only among children but also adults, and therefore the company decided to expand its geography.
In the first "Motor rally of energy efficiency" they succeeded to fully appreciate the benefits of the electric vehicle. It drove 1,098 km, for which it took only 192 kWh of electricity worth 654 rubles. For comparison, a car, equipped with an internal combustion engine, would run the same distance with 110 litres of gasoline in the amount of 3,733 rubles. As for the energy efficiency the electric vehicle surpassed its gasoline counterpart by 5.7 times.
