April 29, IDGC of Centre held an action "St. George’s Ribbon". The event was held in the framework of the implemented to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory project "Story of a feat", the purpose of which is to tell to as many Russians about the unknown exploits of their fellow countrymen, who forged the victory at the front and in the rear.
The action began with giving St. George’s ribbons to employees of the company. At the same time the action participants could get acquainted with placed on special stands stories of heroes, whose names became known thanks to the project "Story of a feat". A moment of silence was held in their memory and the memory of all, who with their fighting feats and hard work, advanced the great victory.
"Story of a feat" is a historical and social project of IDGC of Centre. The company created sites http://istoriyapodviga.ru and историяподвига.рф, where everyone can publish military stories of his or her family, relatives, friends, and acquaintances, the media in the regions tell about them in the service area. On the eve of Victory Day in the framework of the project in all regions of the Central Federal District, where IDGC of Centre operates, "Memory Alleys" will be planted and the names of heroes, who it helped to discover, will be immortalized.
The patriotic action "St. George’s Ribbon" this year marks its tenth anniversary. It reminds the present generation of the unprecedented feat of our people in the Great Patriotic War, about what price we got the Victory for. The black colour of the ribbon symbolizes the ashes of war, orange - the eternal flame of memory. The action covers dozens of countries in Europe, Asia and America. In the first six years of its implementation around the world over 50 million St. George’s ribbons were distributed.
