All branches IDGC of Centre got Certificates of readiness for the winter

Branches of IDGC of Centre successfully completed the preparation for the 2013/2014 autumn-winter period. Last Friday the certificate of readiness for the winter peak load was received by the last branch of the company — Yarenergo.

The level of preparedness of the branches to operate through the autumn-winter period was evaluated by the checking commission, which included representatives of IDGC of Centre, supervisory and regulatory authorities.

In the run-up for the autumn-winter operation period the branches of IDGC of Centre performed a number of technical and organizational measures in the framework of the implementation of the investment and maintenance programs; conducted specialized emergency response drills; implemented a set of measures to provide the operational staff with winter clothing and personal protective equipment, and created an emergency stock of equipment.

This year, in its service area IDGC of Centre repaired about 18,438.9 kilometres of power lines of different voltage classes (0.4-110 kV, including cable lines), 131 substations of 35-110 kV (with a complex method) and 3,989 transformer substations of 6-10 kV. An emergency supply of equipment was stocked at 100%. Motor and specialized vehicles were also maintained to work at low temperatures. Emergency mobile crews were formed. Testing operation availability of protection and automation schemes is complete.

According to Deputy General Director for Technical Issues — Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Sergey Shumakher, «This year, the preparations for the autumn-winter operation period IDGC of Centre performed in strict accordance with the previously approved plan. We fulfilled all the necessary amount of work, both on maintenance and investment programs, and reliably prepared the company for the operation through winter peak loads.»

The final step in assessing the readiness of IDGC of Centre to operate through the autumn-winter period will be checking by a special commission of the Ministry of Energy.
