The Victory banner handover is going on in IDGC of Centre, JSC

12 May 2010

The solemn ceremony of the Banner Handover took place in Tver training and production centre. Head of IDGC of Centre, representatives of the Veteran Council, Youth Council and seventy-five veterans of Tverenergo participated in the event. Cadets of Suvorov’s military college brought in the replica of the relic to the brass band music.

Heroes of the war were remembering fallen friends, telling of their lives, singing songs of the war years. Today 60 participants of military operations, 117 workers of the home front, one victim of siege and nine minor prisoners of the war stockade are among the veterans of Tverenergo. The festive Handover ceremony was finished by the common photograph near the Victory Banner.
Viktor Ablyozgov, Adviser General Director of IDGC of Centre, JSC, noted: “The Victory Banner is the holy relic of the Great Patriotic War. We obtained the opportunity to touch the war time spirit, valuate the Victory grandeur. Our task is to do everything for the veterans to have decent living conditions and to be assured that their business will be kept in descendants’ hearts”.

Within two months such events will be held in all branches of IDGC of Centre, JSC. On May 13, the Victory Banner will be handed over to the veterans of Bryanskenergo. The power engineers of Smolensk region will be the last ones, who will participate in the Handover, because Smolensk region is the native land of Mikhail Egorov, sergeant of the Red Army, who erected the Banner above the Reichstag in 1945. The Handover will be finished in June in the executive apparatus of the Company by handover of the replica of the Victory Banner to one of museums of IDGC of Centre, JSC.
