Smolenskenergo cares about the environment of the region

⁠The branch “Rosseti Centre Smolenskenergo” pays special attention to ensuring the environmental safety of production activities, takes measures aimed at preserving wildlife, as well as preventing technological disturbances caused by the impact of animals.

For the first half of 2020, Smolenskenergo allocated 8.553 million rubles to implement the company’s environmental policy measures. The main tasks in the field of implementation of environmental programs of the branch were: control over compliance with environmental legislation in the structural subdivisions of the branch; organization of complete primary accounting of waste, setup of closed-cycle technologies without emissions of residual products when servicing vehicles, use of absorbents to eliminate consequences of spills of oil, oil products, fuels and lubricants, etc.; purchase and use of demercurization kits; carrying out industrial environmental control, greening and landscaping of premises of production sites.

To ensure the protection of birds during the operation of power lines, as well as to reduce the number of emergency outages of power lines and increase the service life of insulators, 575 bird protection devices were installed on the territory of the Smolensk region.
